Suzani

Stunning hand embroidered suzani from the Caucasus. The cloth backing is cotton while the hand stitched thread is silk. This suzani is beautifully crafted in a floral pattern, using reds, blues, and yellow thread, that still shimmer in the light.

Suzani's are traditionally created by a mother and her daughter for the daughter's dowry. Today they make a wonderful bedspread or wall hanging.
