Pair of Antique Griffin Architectural Elements

Pair of 19th Century architectural elements in the shape of a griffin; cast bronze with faint remnants of gilt trim.  Decorative corner pieces for a building or monument.  In mythology, the griffin was part eagle & part lion ... powerful creatures meant to guard treasure.  This pair would make perfect bookends or decorative objects in their own right.  Good condition.
